There was news that Miho Nakayama, a top idol in the 1980s, suddenly passed away.
This work is a homage to Miho's appearance during her idol days. Palms together.
“Rich Village” acrylic and other mixed media on canvas, No. S20
I try to express the fertility of the earth and the mysterious atmosphere that gives birth to various stories.
This has been my theme for the past three years. I have just put down my pen on my latest work, feeling that it is time to put an end to it.
After moving to this rural area where I live, I have been creating works based on the theme of “A Village of Abundance.” I stopped drawing this Harvest series for a while, but now I have resumed and continued working on this theme, “The Village of Harvest.” This time I painted it on a slightly larger F100 canvas. Whenever I take on the challenge of a 100-issue masterpiece, I always try to be very careful, and this time I have reinforced that feeling once again. There are still many areas that I have yet to paint, but I would like to put down my pen and have some time to have a conversation.
It is not uncommon to see large birds dancing across the earth or butterflies performing skillful dances, but in the village where I live, such sights are commonplace. It is around this time that I realize that moving to Satoyama was a great decision as I constantly come into contact with the shapes of living beings.
